The dispatcher, Joe, is excellent and friendly. The electrician who arrived was Eric. He was nice but not outgoing. When asked questions he didn't give straight answers or advice. The one negative thing is they apparently don't carry even basic supplies on their vans, so they have to have to leave and go pick them up. The part Eric purchased and installed did not solve the problem we needed repaired. I would recommend EI Electrical, but ask questions, take photos of the problem and text them and if possible purchase supplies yourself to have on hand when they arrive.

Great work on a panel swap from an old 50a fire hazard to an outdoor panel to make the home safe.

We had a main meter panel that needed replacement. Joe was very fast and responsive and Eric went above and beyond in doing the work and also replaced a breaker for our solar panels. They were fast and very reasonably priced and professional. I will be using them for other electrical repairs going forward.

Our electrician was AMAZING! When we moved in there was a weird wire that just stuck out of our fireplace. He was able to move it and install an outlet into our cabinet. He also installed our wireless thermostat and saved us from having to buy a new dryer by changing a fuse in it. Also loved that they followed up after the work was completed to make sure everything was running okay. Only reason for a 4/5 is after the appointment was made there was a lot of correspondence later at night or very early in the morning (ie times I likely wasn't going to respond).

E I Electrical saved me for Christmas 2019! I bought a new washer/dryer but it came with an entirely different electrical set up than I expected. Not only did they respond on Christmas Eve to help me figure out what need to be done, but they helped me find the right breaker for my old, 1972 style electrical panel and rewire the whole panel so that I could do laundry after the holidays. Thanks, Joe!

The electrical box at my parents' house was so old and overrun it caught on fire the day after Christmas. Thankfully my mom was outside to see it and it was extinguished quickly and noone was hurt! Obviously that meant the entire house lost power. HECO and the fire department evaluated and my now my mom was in need of reliable electrician.. and fast!
Unfortunately, all the electricians that came recommend by friends and family were either busy or never responded. No bueno! So, my mom called me and asked me to "look google for a pono electrician" - and so I did.

I was able to get an appointment the day after I made a request. Leonardo showed up in the agreed time window on a terribly rainy day, and quickly performed my request - turning a hardwire oven hookup into a proper outlet.

E I Electrical is my new "go-to" contractor for electrical repairs and service. I called and they replaced a rusted out HECO meter box, power lead box and junction box the next day. Professional installation and great craftsmanship...well worth it!

About a week ago, our kitchen range, dryer and water heater stop working, all at the same time, so I knew it had to do with the circuit breakers. I search for replacements but could not find any at several hardware stores. I decided to have the whole panel replaced because I knew it was fairly old. When I called an electrical company for an estimate, they referred me to E I Electrical and even gave me a phone number. When I called E I Electrical, they asked for a photo of my panel box and immediately told me that the panel I had was a fire hazard and was recalled by manufacture, which went out of business. The price to replace the panel was reasonable, so I gave the the okay and made a 50% deposit. Anyway, an electrician came the next morning and began the work. This electrician was amazing. He even removed his boots, when he first came into my home, but I later told him it was okay to keep them on. He completed his job in less than four hours. I am totally satisfied with his work and would recommend this company to anyone needing any electrical work.

After reading all the great reviews on EI Electrical, I called to get our front and back security lights replaced and Dave responded quickly with a quote and said he could send Ronnie out right away if I had the lights which I did. The price quoted was very reasonable and I was so thrilled about the response time. The installation was fast and Ronnie explained how to adjust the lights. When both lights turned out to be defective (one while installing and the other staying on all night for no reason, I informed Dave the next morning asking if they could come out again and once he was informed I had the new replacement lights, he had Ronnie come back that day despite it getting close to traffic time and do the work. Ronnie did a great job-and again the cost was very reasonable. We were so impressed with their willingness to go the extra mile (literally-twice) for us, the quick and efficient service, and the honesty in their dealings with us, plus they are very nice. If we have electrical work in the future, El Electrical will be the one we call.

Okay, here's how it happened.

6:00 am - Tenant e-mails light switch is acting "weird" and he's going out of town the next day. He's nervous (rightfully so) that there's a short somewhere.

9:00 am - David responds. He's in the area on another job. Can be at the house in 1 hour.
10:00 am - David is at the house.
11:00 am - David is done, tenant is happy and invoice is in my e-mail inbox.

Can't get better service than that. Price was very reasonable. Got us out of a bind. Will definitely use them again.

Long story short I woke up at about 2 am to my baby sister crying. She was complaining about a smell in my daughter's room. I turned on the light to see what was going on and noticed the switch to the light and fan was smoking and smelled like burnt plastic. I quickly turned it off and felt the wall for heat. After that I couldn't really sleep so I was googling electricians on Oahu and found EI. Let me tell you and testify God is so Good and always faithful!

I texted the number on the yelp website and also left a message on FB. Dave called me right before 8 am, saying that someone could be there in 30-45 minutes. Almost an hour later I received a call from Robert, who was a divine appointment and he said he could come check it out. I believe he was sent by God.

It turned out the box was fried, so he replaced it along with the light switch. He also noticed our fire alarms were disabled and offered to install the new ones I bought 2 months ago, 5 to be exact. I then asked him if he could check out my ceiling fans. He tightened the screws because they were loose and it kept making ticking noises. Robert did an Awesome job and I will definitely call him again. I give EI Electrical Services 2 thumbs up and 10 stars! Thank you & God bless your business!

I called EI Electrical a few months ago about a problem. It is a difficult one in my house, and has taken a long time to solve because it involved HECO. From the very first call I made to Dave, he treated me like a friend and worked hard to help me solve this problem. He has gone out of his way to come to my house when half the power was out, and made an effort to meet me with HECO electricians to solve the problem (the major question is whether it is the owner of houses' problem or HECO's). This problem involved many different calls, and every time Dave was patient and willing to help. He considers this as big a problem to him as to me.

I never expected such full, kind service. Without someone with his patience, attention to detail, experience and determination to solve the problem I would have had no hope in finding a solution.

Today we solved the problem. Dave even had the hard to find part in the truck. No have never had so much help in a problem like this.

Dave is awesome. His team is dedicated to providing his customers with quick and high quality electrical work. It doesn't matter if it a small or big job. He came all the way out to my house to just install one outlet on short notice.

They take their work very seriously with no complaints. Price is reasonable as well (periodically have Yelp deals). Accommodations are well done, Dave travels around the island and keeps his promises on appointments. One minor adjustment I would like to see them do is to open up on either a Saturday or a Sunday to accommodate the weekend customers.

I have procrastinated long enough with this review but I wanted to make sure
I took my time to write it.
I began my search for an electrician because I wanted to replace 3 bedroom
fans for cosmetic reasons and no light kit and one living room fan (25 ft
high vaulted ceiling) due to a dead motor, cosmetic, and no lights.
I did several price quotes with competitors prior to going with El Electric
Services. I found El Electrical Services through yelp and was happy about
the reviews. I requested a price quote from a few agencies with good ratings
as well, and David got back to me within a couple hours if not sooner.
I was unaware of what a problem my 25-29 ft vaulted ceiling fan would cause
for most companies to complete the job- or how much it would increase in
budget (up to $1000s). I let David know about the ceiling and he immediately
said no issue and no need to do a walk-through. Honestly this made me
nervous, but the reviews gave some reassurance. I am sure at one point I
was annoying by reminding him that I had this high ceiling!
After speaking with a few companies I was comfortable in the price with
verbal quote from David and went with El Electric Services. Fortunately for
me, a job was cancelled and they were able to fit me in about a week later.
I had to take off work because to do services on the weekend is more. I
waited at my house excited I did not have to bare another summer with no
ceiling fan in my living room! David called me and told me the special
ladder they needed to pick up broke and would be late. I was anxious because
I had to be back to work at a certain time and they had a lot to do. About
1.5 hours later Adam and Ronny arrived. They introduced themselves and
throughout installation were very pleasant, patient, helpful, and efficient
with their time.
I was able to do other things in the house, engage them in small
conversation and even got in a few selfies for my home improvement project
book.and yelp review. They kept me informed throughout the process by
letting me know what they were doing, any issues they had, and asked
questions to make sure my intent was received.
About 3-4 hours later, everything was complete. All that was left was an
invoice. The only downside was I like to have my invoice when a job is
complete so I immediately have records (I prefer document quotes too, but
not a requirement). I did have to wait a day or two to receive it and was
surprised about additional costs that had not been discussed (rental and
transportation of special ladder). Now is this a deal breaker for me? No.
Regardless if he would have told me up front, I still would have the service
done because of the quality of work, and demand of services rendered.
All in all, I am happy and enjoying my investment into my new home upgrade!

Nice doesn't describe these "guys". Fair is not strong enough. The actual work was a simple job and done perfectly. I needed to replace a dining room fixture that was"flush" to the ceiling with a new swag fixture. I was very pleased with the professionalism and efficiency. Highly recommend! I am very pleased.

Awesome service! Called in morning and they were able to accommodate me the same day!! So efficient, they explained why our outlet fried and replaced the outlet and the dryer cord too! Via YELP, I found and referred Dave to a client in Hawaii Kai who needed extra breakers and wiring upgrade to the electrical box to accommodate his sound studio equipment. This was an amazing end to a stressful experience! Our electrical breaker was smoking! (no power to half of the apartment!!) I sent a text message to David, after 5 p.m. He showed up 15 minutes later, replaced 4 breakers that were burnt out. He was able to fix the problem in less than an hour, and also gave a quote for replacing the entire breaker box that was 1/3 the cost of the competition. Not to mention his expertise in his field and his integrity in the process as well. Thanks to David we don't have to spend the night by candlelight! Definitely give him a call for your electrical needs!!!

Being new to Honolulu (moved here 2 years ago from Hilo), I had no idea who to call when I needed an electrician. I didn't want to be ripped off so looked on Yelp. The reviews were all good so decided to try EI Electric. When I called, it was after hours. I thought I would leave a message to call back but David picked up. After telling him my problem, he said he could come in a couple of days. That was fine with me. The next day, I get a call from him saying the job he did that morning didn't take as long as expected so if it was ok to come now. He came in 10 minutes, fixed the problem within the hour, and left before my grandson got up from his nap. Good service with reasonable prices. I would defiantly use him again!!

E.I. Electrical was probably one of the best contractors I've ever used in my life. I called them at 5:15pm and Dave picked up. I told him that there was no power going to my water heater. He came over as soon as he finished the job he was at... 8:15pm to fix my water heater. He was super nice, professional, and fast. Before I knew it, I had hot water. Woo hoo! His prices are totally reasonable. I would absolutely use him again and tell my friends to use him.

I was referred to Dave Eastman about 17 years ago and have used him exclusively for both business and personal electrical needs. I've made countless referrals to homeowners, tenants, friends and business associates with NO negative feedback. As a property manager for almost 19 years, my experiences with Dave has been no less than exceptional. His pricing is VERY fair and you'll get your money's worth every time. Dave has a background in micro electronics (US Navy) which may be the reason Dave is a grade above most other journeyman electricians. Dave was able to troubleshoot and repair some very complex high rise electrical issues. In one instance, I called three (3) different engineers to troubleshoot a major flaw in the "power-out" switching (to back-up generator power) of the fire alarm's sprinkler system. None could identify/troubleshoot the problem and obviously could not recommend a fix. Desperate to resolve a potential life issue, I decided to call on Dave hoping he could help. Dave identified the problem in less than 5 minutes. After purchasing the appropriate electrical component, Dave repaired the problem that same day.
